I wanted to create an object that feels like it doesn’t quite belong to this world, something that resists immediate recognition. Is it a fruit? A planet? A relic?
By combining familiar materials in an unfamiliar form, I invite the viewer to pause in a moment of quiet wonder.
I have been working on finding new uses for ceramic waste since 2017. Initially, I did this in combination with new clay, both with casting molds and 3D printing. At the end of 2023, I had the opportunity to combine discarded ceramics with glass, at The Glassfactory in Sweden.
‘Matter of silence/01’ is therefore the result of combining two materials, glass and porcelain.
